    Logistics and Supply Chain players in Europe need to learn more about best practice, and this platform is designed to meet that fundamental need. In order to enable the exchange of experience in tackling logistics challenges in a sustainable way, the ELAbestLog platform has been developed as the perfect starting point, not only for those businesses just embarking on this journey, but also for mature businesses who still want to learn from others.

Mars Deutschland wins the European Award for Logistics Excellence 2010

The European Logistics Association (ELA) presented this year’s award for innovative solutions in logistics to Mars Deutschland for its cooperation strategy, AGENDA 2017. The jurors recognized the company’s project for its “excellent composition, problem-solution-result description and rich illustration“. With regard to the content of the project, the admirable work of cooperation between different companies led by Mars was a key element that impressed in a very positive way the international Award Jury.

The award ceremony took place at the EUROLOG 2010 industry conference on 12 May in the Polish city of Poznan.

  • During the Annual General Assemby meeting ELA members elected a new Board.
    We would like to welcome Adriana Palasan from ARILOG, Agostino Fornaroli from AILOG and Marcin Hajdul from PTL as new members in the Board.
  • Peter Kiss from HALPIM was elected Treasurer to the Board and the AGM.

  • Prof. fabrizio Dallari joined the ELA Research and Development committee

Fabrizio Dallari is Associate Professor of Business Logistics and Supply Chain management at Carlo Cattaneo University (LIUC) and he is also head of the Logistics Research Center (C-log). He is contract professor at Politecnico di Milano, where he formerly served as research assistant, after studying for a PhD at the Università di Firenze. His current research interests include physical distribution network design, demand planning and management, transportation planning and materials handling design. He has published several papers in leading academic journals, conferences and wrote four books. He has conducted a variety of consulting projects in leading national and international organizations.

  • At the occasion of the 25th anniversary of ELA Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Christian Pfohl was awarded with the ELA Fellowship. He has been active in ELA from the start but was also one of the first if not the first European to write a book on logistics. Since that time many books followed. His never ceasing engagement in ELA as well as in logistics and supply chain management as such, made that he is a well know and highly appreciated member of the logistics community.
  • Graham A. Ewer was awarded with the ELA Honorary Membership for his contribution and achevements as ELA President from 2004 till 2006.

  • "Innovation Excellence in Logistics" the new ELA survey is now available.
  • ELA has the task to disseminate the results of the EU project BestLog
  • ELA is often asked to participate in, or endorse, or lend support to a variety of research projects.
    For that reason ELA published the broad principles for ELA’s support for research and provides advice on how to engage with the Association in this field.
  • The reviewed standards are released which form the foundation for the European Certification Board for Logistics (ECBL) to certify individuals who meet these Standards.
