Eurolog 2008 integrated into Logistics & Transport

Logistics a Key Performance Indicator in Scandinavia!

In Scandinavia, and not least Sweden, you have a remarkable great number of big and truly multinational companies. Their geographic situation makes logistics an important key performance factor.

In addition, the green topics and dimensions linked to logistics were early recognised.

Scandinavian companies and universities belong to the leading actors in developing the new models for efficient, sustainable and responsible supply and demand chain solutions.

Some highlights

  • In the opening seminar the Swedish Minister for Communications and executive managers from Schenker, Unilever, Volvo and Preem will discuss logistics under the headline “Responsibility and sustainability – effects on the bottom line”. Listen to what some major actors do today and how they estimate the future.
  • India and China are not only enormous sourcing markets but also consuming. Hear how leading companies like Volvo and Alfa Laval have established their business and what difficulties they have seen. The Indian Ambassador to Sweden describes the recent developments in India.

  • The Swiss Armed Forces Logistics Organisation wins the European Award for Logistics Excellence 2007 in Berlin.

  • EUROLOG 2007

  • "Efficiency -Responsibility - Success" was the theme for the 24th International German Logistics Congress and the Eurolog. With more than 3500 participants gathering from some 50 countries, this conference was a big success. One of the many high lights was the presentation of Bundeskanzlerin Dr. Angela Merkel who emphasised the importance of logistics as a cross function in industries. She expressed her appreciation for this industry that ties different arias and also co-decided how Germany will be presented in the world.
  • Alfonz Antoni - HLA Hungary has been elected as the new Vice-President of ELA.
  • "Innovation Excellence in Logistics" the new ELA survey is now available.
  • ELA has the task to disseminate the results of the EU project BestLog
  • ELA is often asked to participate in, or endorse, or lend support to a variety of research projects.
    For that reason ELA published the broad principles for ELA’s support for research and provides advice on how to engage with the Association in this field.
  • The reviewed standards are released which form the foundation for the European Certification Board for Logistics (ECBL) to certify individuals who meet these Standards.
